Valley View Motel: A Brief History
The Beginnings (1958)
The Valley View Motel, nestled in Celina, Tennessee, has been a family-owned gem for over 60 years. Built in 1958 by John and Mildred Petty, it quickly became a welcoming stay for travelers, offering a cozy atmosphere and a convenient stop close to Dale Hollow Lake.
Mary Jo and Toby's Era (1981)
In 1981, Mary Jo Boles and her husband, Toby, inherited the property from her parents. They strived to preserve its charm while adapting as needed. During their ownership, they ran the operations full-time as they raised their family on-site.
New Ownership (2023)
In 2023, our family purchased the Valley View from Toby and Mary Jo upon their retirement. We continue to find ways to improve and modernize the motel, while keeping its charm. We look forward to putting our own stamp on the history of this small town business.
